In Search of the Donut Posted by pagestep007 on Jan 16, 2013
Hello to everyone. With production of Lord of The Donuts in pause mode, I wondered if I would be allowed to start a new topic, about Frogo's trip to New Zealand. We hope to get as close as possible to  where The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings was filmed/made. Let's see what we can come up with .
So.. starting here, with your permission:

You have my full permission!   This should be fun.  I was just watching Xena the other day and thinking about your current trip back to NZ.  I know that at least parts of Xena was filmed there and was going to ask if maybe you could see if you could find some of the locations.   I get the feeling that some of them are quite well know since they seem to be used in other shows.  Then again I am sure that NZ is small enough that everyone knows everyone else right? I'm kidding of course.

Thanks Shawn.  Here's the  Spanish version...aqui es la version en Español.

Re: In Search of the Donut Posted by Shawn on Jan 31, 2013
Ok how is the Spanish one dubbed? Sounds like you but also sounds a bit electronic. Did you run it through some type of translator?  I know you speak Spanish but just did not seem "real".

ha ha...Shawn,some parts are dubbed, and some parts are recorded live in Spanish. I was going to do just an English version, but decided to also try a Spanish one, and so I kept forgetting to repeat the shot... rescued it in post with some dubs, which sound flat as studio voice overs tend to have less room noise,so it is never the same as getting it in the  shooting. In both versions, I raise my voice 25 semitones in 'Audacity'. Sometimes it works well, and other times it adds a  robotic reverb for some reason. The parts that are dubbed, you might pick by being out of sinc with mouth, and in some, I had no background ,or room noise to  support the dialog, so it sounds a little  flat in those at times, however, in the english version sometimes the live one does the same thing. Sometimes  I think I removed too much  noise, and sometimes it is just strange ambience in the shot, reverb or lack thereof...anyhow.. I am still learning. I tried using  mic and recorder, and also onboard camera mic , to try out logistics for  on the road shooting, so there you also get some variation in  sound...anyhow...we keep learning.

Finally got a laptop sorta working, although a little glitchy, and found a connection to upload a segment...Frogo, flies out of  Bogota and gets as far as  Paris.

La version en español tiene que esperar hasta que tenemos otra conneccion. perdon.

Frogo I spent 3 days sleeping on the floor of Bogata airport in 1972 when there was an airline strike.  I am glad you got off without a hitch or a strike.
