Greetings Posted by Crafty Lady on Jan 28, 2013
Fair Greetings my Gentles,   I am a 72 y/o great Grandmother.   Although i have dabbled in puppets/marionettes before, i am just completing my first two fully articulated marionettes.   I am semi-active in the SCA and thus am much interested in Middle Ages characters.   George and Judy have been taken apart and reattached so many times that they look pretty rough.
At the moment i am having considerable problems with my wigs.  I am using wigs instead of attached hair because my M's must play many parts.
I am making my heads over a base using Crayola modeling compound.  I have and still do work in wood, ceramics and papier mach'e, but this compound is so gentle to my hands that i consider it best.
I am very glad to have found this site.  See you all soon.

I will assume you mean the default avatar that is showing up because you have not yet uploaded or chosen another one from the site for your Profile.

Pretty easy really.  Click on the Profile button at the top of the page. Once in your profile go to Modify Profile > Forum Profile Information.   You'll see right at the top the options for choosing an Avatar.

  • Personalized Picture (Lets you choose from some here at the site)
  • I have my own pic (If you have a URL to an image you want to use.)
  • I will upload my own picture (If there is an image on your computer you want to upload and use.)

Remember if you are going to upload or link to an image of your own that there is a limit of 150 X 150 set on them. The system tries to re-size uploaded images but if it is too big it is going to choke on it. I think often folks try to use images direct from their camera or phone and often these are really large files. Always look for a save for web option in such devices.
