Red Nose Day 2013 Posted by lokiy2j on Feb 28, 2013
SO in the UK we have this charity, and they run a telethon/day around it called Red Nose Day, it's run every other year and it's all about raising money for disadvantaged kids in the UK and Africa.

The tag line is "Do something funny for money" and if you live in the UK or have done, you'll know that you get bombarded with information and merchandise every year in an attempt for them to raise money!

So anyway, it was always one of my fave charities because I could do something silly with my Daughter and could buy all the merchandise for her (red noses, t-shirts, stickers, wrist bands etc) so those of you who know my story know that I came into the puppet world because my wife left, took my daughter and has restricted my contact with her (don't we all love family court!?!) and this led to the creation of my Youtube channel and The Loki Show.

So anyway, here's what we've done in an attempt to raise money for Red Nose Day this year.....apologies to anyone outside of the UK who doesn't really know much about this.

Hahaha Top notch chap! (No Direction - lol priceless!) Great video and darn sight funnier than the third rate nonsense they'll have on tv on the night!!

cheers pal, and you'll have to excuse the off key, off tune singing. If only I could get an auto tuner....lol

the puppets will be doing more musical numbers (despite my instincts to stay away from music) later in the year, but now I need to go and work on the show as i've not got anything ready and it starts in 2 weeks!!

Cheers Pelon!! appreciate the kudos!

B&P you know I spent the equivalent of a working week on the last video....it'll be interesting to see how long I spend on the episodes for the show!

haha, yeah a working week! You're leaning against an open door there!! Once you start, it snowballs to the point where the hours pass like seconds. It's trying to get as much done before the arm and shoulder gives out :D

erm yeah I also have side projects cropping up. doing production and filming for a local band (http://www.youtube.com/user/SignalsRedOfficial) plus some more stuff for the show that wasn't really planned!!

Hey,Good version of 'Killing in the Name', he's got the bass sound spot on! I agree, side projects are getting distracting.
I still have to find time to gig with the Real Booze Band and stick those vids up on Youtube. The Real Booze Brothers Band in action
That's me on drums!

How do you come up with your ideas? Do you sit down at a lunchtime and brainstorm, or does it just come to you while you're doing other things?
Re: Red Nose Day 2013 Posted by lokiy2j on Mar 05, 2013
The real Booze Band Brothers!! awesome!! Blues brothers was one of my fave films..."we're on a mission from God"

My ideas? well it's weird because this season 2 which seems to have been in perpetual pre production is sort of a weird one, I started by writing out a skeleton of 24 episode titles and 3 specials (none of the ones I've done were planned btw) then I've gone in an started writing a script for each episode. the first episode for instance is something I started in August last year, and has only just been finished, it's a little different too and might not be to everyone's tastes. the second episode is more of the traditional show format with all the tweaks I've added in.

The new idea I worked on today sort of came out of a conversation at work where someone had a bit of an angry customer and referred to them in a funny way, I sort of ran with that in my head then looked up what I needed on the technical side and it's now been filmed and rendered as a video clip to be used in one of the future episodes!

then there are going to be a few film tribute episodes...sort of based on my mini Photoshop project earlier in the year.

inspiration hits me, and I run with it is the short answer though.

but my biggest inspiration will always be my daughter, I got a valentines day card from her 2 days before V day...so I filmed and produced the valantines day episode, the harlem shake looked fun, I had a day off from work...doesn't take long to film 30seconds even if you have to film multiple puppets on green screen on a Friday morning after you have been out late the night before.

Then the red nose day special was just something I wanted to do, I put a message up on my facebook wall and someone suggested I cover one direction...
