Hey everyone, we get a bunch of requests for antron colors.  We are considering carrying some as regular stock, but need to narrow down the choices.  We will be carry 200 yds per color, so at first it will be just one color until we get a base line of what other color is needed.

Please weight in on the colors you use most on a scale of 1-10, 1 being small pieces - 10 being overall puppet body colors.

Example....do you use green bodies with yellow eyelids, then green would be a 10 and yellow a 1.  What shades of these colors etc.

These are the colors we have requests for mostly: Kermit green (not sure what that is since Kermit has changed colors over time), pastel yellow, flesh with more pink or peach tone, medium purple, medium to baby blue, grey, light to medium pink.

I want to hear what you use or would like to use.  You don't have to choose the colors I listed. Tell all your puppet making friends to weight in.  The more votes, the more likely this will happen.

Besides what is listed, which I've used alot of, what about a golden yellow or an orange? Oh! And Kelly Green too!

Oh yeah, post panetone colors or swatch colors as well.  Everyone one's version of green, pink, purple is different.  Thanks.

Here is a link to a Pantone color chart. http://www.docstoc.com/docs/70707130/Pantone-Colour-Chart---Large-Format-Print-Guide  Remember though that these colors are going to look different on each persons screen.  Might be a starting point though.  I always say that if you are buying fabric over the internet and you really are picky about a specific color then you need to see if they can send you a sample. Even then you can end up with slight variations with each dye lot. I think that for most they are not going to be so picky though.

Julie, I would think that to start with you might want to carry a "Flesh" color. You know I wonder if it would be worth looking in fabric stores at the available fleeces and comparing the colors you could offer in Antron to those.  Again may not be exact but close enough that some one could run down to their local store and see if they have that color.

P.S. Was checking the Pantone site... the amount they charge for swatch books is outrageous!

Shawn,  we already carry a flesh antron.

For the non flesh tone colors, I usually go for darker pastel colors as the base of my human puppets. It's the basic color pallet you find in the Easter aisle of a retail store. Those seem to "read" the best. Mostly Pink, Blue, Orange, Yellow, Green and Purple.

Gee, I have not much help on this one.  I use white or black light colored fabrics most of the time but the flesh color already dyed would be awesome. You are already doing that though. If I were to think of the colors I have used most it would be greens and blues.

Thanks everyone.  The white and flesh are dyed by the manufacturer. The other colors we carry from time to time are extras from colors we have dyed for our own use.  We have the new colors just today. Amethyst, persimmon and chocolate brown.  On Monday we will also have a honey brown.

Hopefully the results from this survey will produce one new color at a time that we will have dyed by the manufacturer.  I'm leaning toward a shade of green or blue.
