Bird Wings...Use Arm Rods? Posted by Patmur on Mar 12, 2013
Hi, I am working on a bird puppet.  I know some wings are moved by arm rods but is there another simple way?  I assume that rods are attached via velcro? I was thinking of string somehow?

Click here to go to a post I made several years ago about a bird puppet I made.

When I searched for this post, the Youtube video didn't show up, so here it is below. This was for a simple, small rod puppet, I'm sure you could adapt the concept for a larger puppet.

So it can be done. I just have to figure out how to make it work on my specific bird.  Thanks!!

This one seems to make it really easy on how it is done...seems like the wings are one piece running through the body...then attach the rod up through the middle of the body and scecure the rod in the middle of the one piece wing...when you move the rod up and down that will give u the flapping motion.  Hope it will help out.
