"The Golden Heroes of Armageddon"; it's a Taiwanese production from "Tales of Heaven & Earth Multimedia Int. Ltd.". Has its own forum ("Golden Puppets") at http://www.bangbubu.com/board.asp?area_sn=6 . Have no idea when/if an English translation will become available.

Dorian

I'm sure there might be dubbed versions out there. This type of puppetry is popular in Taiwan. Might be worth seeing if there are dubbed versions out there on Amazon or something. Andrew from PuppetVision might know: he went over there specifically to interview some puppeteers who work on these shows.  Or even checking IMDB might be worthwhile.

Thank you for the help! But I don't understand Chinese. If there's an English forum/community out there for this show, that'd be awesome :D

Do you know anyway that I can get in touch with Andrew? Yes, dubbed version would make my life much more sweeter

You can run the bangbubu address through Google and get it to "translate" the fora (Ah! the joys of Japlish ). The only trouble I foresee is you will not be able to post as they are only accepting postings in Cantonese/Taiwanese. I did a quick Google search for any such English fora, but couldn't find any. Sorry.

I tried to search for a Cantonese/Taiwanese translator but it says there are no writings for Cantonese/Taiwanese, only Traditional Chinese. But I bet there are lots of English speaking fans out there like myself :D

Andrew can be found via: http://puppetvision.info/
The other person who might know is: http://www.puppetkaos.com/
Kelvin is originally from Taiwan, and has posted about this puppetry before on his blog.

Why not browse the Asian DVD sales sites? Something like this: http://www.yesasia.com/global/en/home.html
(And yeah, it's not pirated stuff there in case you were wondering)

However, at a certain point it could just be that there is nothing available. I wouldn't expect English-dubbed puppet shows from Taiwan to be *too* popular for the producers to make them in the first place.

Thanks. I've talked with Andrew and he actually knows people who have worked on the show, it's amazing. I did a search on yesasia.com but the dvds they have are also in Chinese. Well, don't count on it. Anime wasn't too popular either but look what it has become today.

I think anime has a broader appeal than Taiwanese glove puppetry. No matter how truly amazing that puppetry is.

Still I hope you do find something!
