Vac-U-Form Machine For Sale Posted by Andrew on Apr 10, 2013
Unraku - the studio I work with in Toronto - is clearing out its storage space and selling a lot of equipment and supplies, including this 4 1/2" Rio Pro-Form Vac-U-Form Machine.
If you're unfamiliar with these, they work like a heated press that is used to shape plastic or other material over an object. They can be used to make quick, durable molds and also to make things like puppet eyes. If you ever have hard-to-find plastic bits (like eyes) or want to make duplicates of something, this is the tool to do it with.
You can see one in action in this video:
(in the video they are discussing using it for metal clap applications, but it can be used to make all sorts of things).
These usually sell for about $400-500 + shipping, but we are selling ours for $250 + shipping. We will also give a bit of break on the price if anyone P&S members are interested, to offset the cost of shipping.
It is in very good condition and only used on a couple of projects that it was bought for. We'll even throw in sheets of plastic for free to help get you started.
If you have any questions, please ask away!

Andrew,
Is this model a 120v or 220v?
When using this to make eyes would you suggest painting the interior of the mold? Adding another compound like they did with the metal clay? If so, what type of compound that would be durable enough without fireing?
You are in Canada correct? For US customers that would also mean import fees. What do you estimate shipping cost would be?
