Re: Panaromic Backgrounds For Green Screen Posted by Shawn on Apr 27, 2013
Well unless I've done somethign really stupid, it should be the little camera icon you see above the posting box. It should pop up a window that leads to your personal main Gallery Album then you can navigate to the sub album  you want. In fact you can navigate to other folks albums if you want.  On the right should be thumbnails of the images and when you click them the bbcode is inserted in your post.  Here is one of your new ones. Let's see how it works.

Oh cool, thanks. Ah yes, I remember the camera, but in the full posting board, and not the quick reply. The secret is to hit the reply button. he he.  Now... the idea is that ANYONE can download and use the backgrounds for their vids. Come on everyone, don't be shy. Have a try at chroma keying.

Yes you are correct the quick reply does not have the icons for formatting and adding other content the bbcode used and be inserted manually but you would need to know the location of the image, plus the interface not only finds the image for you but the correct url to get to the page of the image instead of just the image itself. So yes if you want to insert an image from the Gallery it is really best to do via the full Reply screen.

Here is another Background. Message Image. Arrowtown  in the South Island of New Zealand. This is where Frodo in Lord of the Rings was carried on horseback, unconcious....

Great background! Gallery seems to be handling the size just fine now.

Yes Shawn it's handling it. I have a bunch to upload but each one needs a little work before uploading. These ones are all from cell phone stitches, which even 2 years ago would have been impressive. Nowadays its starting to get a little ho-hum, as the cameras coming out these days do them in one hit without having to stitch them. Then you don't get exposure issues and blurry joints as you may be able to spot in some of the ones I am doing(there are a few blurry joints in the Arrowtown one just uploaded). So... I think it is an opportunity for those with video ability to start using them. The internet will become well populated with panoramas free to download before long... so get used to using them One advantage is that in chroma keying, you can use the one panorama for a whole scene by doing different camera angles, and the panorama will accommodate. I am experimenting how to do video pans in a 3D viewer to get moving panoramic backgrounds, but I cam only get a resolution that a screen capture program will do, as a maximum size at full res. See if I can post something.
