The only thing i know about ... Creative Ministry Solutions is doing a Fall festival in Fresno.
I realize its about a 3-3.5 hour drive  from SAC to the Central Valley, but its not terribly far (better than going to So CA). If you jump on the 99 it's a straight shot.

Looks like Fairytale Town is located in your area and having a puppet festival May 2nd thru June 16th. http://www.fairytaletown.org/events/annual-puppet-festival-may-2-june-16/

I think Puppet Art Theater Co. is located in your area. They tour shows in California. http://puppetarts.com/ Not much on their site about upcoming shows but you might keep an eye out for their name in local papers.
