Wireless Headphone/Microphone Posted by judyspuppets on May 02, 2013
I recently purchased a strolling puppet stage. I have strolled in the park a few times. I talked through the 'window' but kids could not always hear me. Is there a wireless headset microphone that I can buy so that I can be heard?

The right microphone really comes down to your budget and how you're going to use it. For example what type of speaker/P.A. system will you be pluging it into? Or are you looking for a speaker as well? And will you have access to AC power?
The Sennheiser G3 series is commonly used in low budget video although it is still a little expensive. I own one of these systems and it's great, and 4 x AA batteries should last 8 to 10 hours, way longer than you'd want to be in a strolling stage. The Sennheiser ew 112-p + me 3 mic would be a good option or if you have access to AC power you could look at the ew 152.
If you're looking for cheap perhaps look into the Nady 351VR + HM-5U although I can’t comment on the quality and usability of this system as I've never used it.
Hope some of this helps.

If you are strolling I would suggest getting a waistband amplifier - I use one of those when doing walk-about ventriloquism and it may just solve your problem. You could even figure out a way to mount the waist pack on the stage itself so it broadcasts outside of the curtains. A search on Amazon for waistband voice amplifiers will give you quite a selection to look through and reviews of each one. I have the Happie amp one and like it just fine! http://happieamp.com/portable-pa-systems.html
