Puppet Music Video Posted by kcspacecase on May 07, 2013
Jim Henson has always been a HUGE inspiration in my life. I built my first puppet when I was 8 years old watching Sesame Street. 20 years later I am attempting to forge my own path in film and puppetry.

My associates and I just released a music video for a talented musician named That 1 Guy. Modern Man took three years to build, film, and edit. Our star is a 7ft tall, 4 person operated, remote controlled animatronic astronaut named Ovid.

Filming on weekends, building for each shoot after we got off our day jobs, which normally took us into the late hours of the night. We created almost 95% of everything you see on screen by hand, everything we could build and shoot we did, even down to colored oil in water for our gas giant planet.

In a world before computer generated anything Jim created magical worlds in front of the camera for us to enjoy. This is our attempt at the same.

Please take a few minutes to enjoy what took so long for us to achieve. If you really like it please share it with others who might enjoy it too. Thank You!

I could only hope Jim would have been pleased with our work.

I really liked the video. It definitely feels a bit old school, with the sets and some of the ship/vehicle designs.
It's projects like this that really take puppetry to an awesome level. Your group should definitely be proud of what you've put forth!

I get it now! That "bass player" is The 1 Guy!  I watched a couple of his videos and realized it.   Not to take away from your excellent video but this tells all. In fact there is a puppet in it also.

Great video! I think what made it for me was the lighting. The reflections on the helmet, the sunlight on the crater sides, etc. Just wonderful

Of course the puppetry was great too
