Looking for fleece in skin tones. Posted by FleeceNFluff on Jun 04, 2013
Does anyone know where to find fleece in skin tones? I'm mainly looking for a peach or flesh tone. The closest thing I've found is either too white or too orange.

Would one of these work? http://www.hancockfabrics.com/Anti-Pill-Camel-Fleece-Fabric-Anti-Pill-Fleece-Solids_stcVVproductId49763544VVcatId539018VVviewprod.htm Actually found that by clicking on the add that showed up on this page.    Was a bit surprised that it picked up on the words in the post so fast. I think it can be hit and miss when you are looking for colors at an actual store since it depends on season what they carry. If you can find a color you like make sure to write down the item number and information so it is easy to find again.  Also remember that colors often change depending on dye lots so you might find something you really like and the next time it may be a bit different. That is the drawback of ordering on-line.

There's also the antron from Out of the Box. It's a nice pale peach color. Joanns also has a really pretty tannish brown in their antipill (also named Camel, I think).

That looks pretty good. I might have to order just a little to try. I found some on another site and thought it was perfect but then when I got it it was way too orange. I used it for a different project so it wasn't wasted.

I've also noticed the colors vary. I needed to redo some things on one of my first puppets. I took a swatch that I kept to Hancock Fabrics and none of the colors matched exactly. Luckily it was the hands I was redoing and they're far enough away from the face and body that you don't notice the difference.

I'm still a bit of a beginner. I don't think I'm ready to risk ruining a bunch of Antron. I've had pretty good results with antipill.

So far all of my puppets except one are human characters. I wanted flesh tones for all of them at first but realize I might have to be a little loose with what's considered a flesh tone. For example I have a female character that's pink with blonde hair and another female character that's almost orange.
