Hi My name is Valita and I'm from NSW Australia. Ive been making puppets on and off for nearly 10 years and ran a puppet ministry in our local church until i was hit with panic disorder which i battled for almost 4 years. Within this time with help from my family we have done workshop make days with schools, and church groups and made puppets for people. I have mainly stuck to one type of puppet over the years (with a few variations) and would love to learn more. I have recently started my own puppet building blog with the purpose to share with others what i have learnt along the way. I don't claim to know everything I just love learning and sharing. One of my recent builds was a gift to our neighbor who is a single mum with two small children and they called him Mungo! love it! anyway I hope to get to know more of you, thanks for having me... Ha, thanks, but hardly a 'guru'. I think I probably just tend to be one of the few Aussie puppeteers who bother to be on the net
There are some good blogs too: puppetrynews.com regularly updates with international news, but generally gets more updates about local events than I do. Dream Puppets (google them!) do a regular pdf newsletter which is excellent. UNIMA Australia sometimes has updates too. And Hilary Talbot (spiritsdancing.com) is another good one.

There are lots of us out there, just not a lot who are on P&S - I know quite a few are on Facebook, though probably not regularly.
