I've been working on this for a while now, nearly there, just the arms and neck to go.
Been trying a few different joints and woods! .....still learning!

I do need a hand that can twist to palm up, so i will try a string joint at the wrist. My plan is for two control wires, one coming out from the palm and one on the back of the hand although lord knows how im going to attach to a controller, my thought is to put a ring on the palm up string which can hook onto the controller which pulls the arm up with the palm facing upward but if anyone has any solutions/suggestions i'd really appreciate it !

Looking good.  Sounds like you are on the right track for controlling the palm up action.  You could also use a drop down bar or trigger to control the palm string that you control with a finger. Just depends on orientation of control. I use a horizontal air plan control for my marionettes so it is pretty easy to add a trigger I can pull back on with  finger to tighten or pull a string. Use it for elbows all the time.

I hope you can get some video of these two in action once you finish them. The hand position looks perfect in the stills and your stringing of the palm up should give you some great control I think. The "split" (seems there is actually a name for this type of stringing but can't remember) in the stringing is brilliant!

That's him pretty much finished, its weird, a lick of paint and it becomes 'Him' instead of 'It'.
Anyhoo ... added a simple costume (thanks Mrs Scojack) and an upright controller (better pics to follow).

I'm very pleased with this one, ive been throught the whole gambit when building him ie the head's to big, the body's too small, hands are too big, his feet's too big  etc etc etc. but glad to say it all worked out pretty well in the end.

Wow what a great face and eyes, he is perfect. I like the head larger to see those bigger than life features. Wish I had a fraction of your talent.
