Sites to use to find people interested in puppetry Posted by Mr. Magilwood on Jul 09, 2013
Hey I am sick of using craigslist with little or no success. Does anyone suggest another site similar where I could post something trying to find people who are interested in puppeteering?

http://www.unima-usa.org
http://www.puppeteers.org
http://puptcrit.org
http://puppethub.com

You could also try websites that cater for a more general theatre/TV/film based audience, there are always people on those sites that are interested in puppetry but never knew where to look or never considered it because they weren't presented with the opportunity. Something like http://www.backstage.com/. There are a lot of 'audition' websites out there, but I'd be wary of them because they're usually run by entrepreneurs rather than people in the industry which means there's a higher chance of them being spammy/scammy and/or over-run by young naive people. All it means is do some checking before you sign up for one because a lot of them require money to post ads and a lot of them have had bad reputations. (Backstage is one of the few good ones)

You'd probably get far better luck finding reliable interested people going to a dedicated theatre/TV/film site - or heck, even approaching your local performing arts college - than going on a generic classifieds forum.

Na listed the Puppeteers of America link (the second one above). Have you checked it to see if there is a local guild near you? That is often the best way to connect with local puppeteers.
