Hey guys (and girls)  Im looking to get some scott foam (reticulated foam) to make a puppet with, now I want it white so I can dye it,  and not use a fleece covering.    I have some that I got when I bought a bunch of patterns from Project puppet and Im looking to get some more any help would be great  thanks  Jimi

I would also suggest doing a Google search for foam or upholstery suppliers in your area. It is very possible you have a local company that sells the foam. Here in KCMO we have a local company called Comfort Felt and Foam that sells all varieties of foam to retailers. While they don't generally sell to the public they have always been happy to sell to the theater and artist community. The nice thing about this place is that they have a cut off bin you can dig through and often find what you need for either free or next to nothing.   Can't hurt to try.

I get mine from fabricempire.com. They're a little slow to ship it because they don't keep it in stock. Last time I ordered it took about 3 weeks to get it.

Is the dry fast foam from fabric empire the same as the Scott foam from Project Puppet?

Looks like the PSI or PPI (cell count) is lower by about 10 but that should not be a big deal.

I've used both the foam from the Project Puppet kit and the foam from Fabric Empire. I can't tell the difference. It works really well for me. I've made six heads with it so far. I use the cheap green stuff from Joann's or Hancock's for bodies and hands.
