The oval pupppet head Posted by Jeroen van Ooijen on Aug 16, 2013
Hi all,

Last weekend received the oval puppet pattern from project puppet,i will make Elmo with that pattern for the head the rest will be mostro.
My question is that the head is only foam, how did you people covering the fabric around it?

Let me know,because it's a dilemma for me. \

I will thank you all for answering my questions before, this forum is a great help for me.

Well Jeroen, you could always enlarge the foam pattern a bit to make the fabric head covering, that might be a bit easier for you. there is always the fabric draping technique, that one way to do it and is talked about on this site, but is a bit tricky to do, but worth learning.

I thought the same way about to make the fabric larger. It's the only way!
Thanks

If you draw a line down the middle of the head from front to back and then use a material similar in stretch of the final fabric, you can create a pattern of the head fleece.  Just start with a similar pattern if you have one and make the modifications.

Jeroen I send you a mail. Years ago I found a few blogs about making your own pattern on a head. I made a word file with this proces. I already send you a mail with the word files I have. I hope you can use it.....
