Snail, I do that with the pipe too. It works well. I did not know about the  glue bit. That's interesting. I tried cutting fluffy valcro, but it was trickier to get a clean edge, but  did work at a pinch.

Snail is right, if anything has a sticky back and you try and sew it either by hand or machine it is going to gum up the needle. You can kind of keep some alcohol on hand to keep it cleaned off but you almost have to do it with every stitch. Best to simply never sew over something that was sticky back. I always grimace when the stage carpenter comes to me with a drape they have applied sticky back Velcro to and say... "This is not staying on, can you sew it?"

Getting a sharp edge on eye circles has been a challenge.  Actually I was trying to make my first "Tutorial" of the sharpened pipe but I think someone else is better at "making do tutorials".  I sure am missing those tutorials. 

I have made some attempts  by painting on Ping-Pong  balls with the aid of a (I don’t know the name: circle ruller, perhaps?) You can see an image here:

Just put the hole you like on the ball, apply the pain and let it dry. works quite fine

Good idea, I used that same circle "ruler" but only drew a line with it, then had to paint very carefully, your idea is much better, paint while template is still there. One time I used old vinyl letter "O" that I had on hand to be guide for circle.
