I like the ring around the bottom, the general shape is looking Bird like.

Wow, glad I decided on a generic "homemade" Robin costume.  3X tshirt was too small and needed cutting up the sides.  Will have to add fabric.  Would have been mad if I spent $25 on a costume shirt.

Looks good! I think maybe it needs a touch more padding out though, just so the hoop around the waist is a little less obvious. The homemade robin costume is great!

If you want to soften or smooth out a line like you have from the hoop, the easiest way might be to simply line the Robin shirt with quilt batting. Another product that is often used is what we call headliner foam.  It is what is used on the inside of your car on the ceiling.
