He looks good. Yes fur can change the look some because it tends to soften any form or shape you may have in the foam base. Looks like you figured out though that you can trim the fur down in places to help bring back some of the shape.

Well, he is more or less done now (some small improvements left).
He looks quite stupid sitting without a hand inside him holding his head up.
His lower body is detachable, I remade the claws from foam and painted them with acrylic paint because the paperclay was too heavy. The hands and feet have rod attachements. Next I will start making some smaller human characters.
