Long Time Lurker in Texas Posted by BritteeG on Nov 16, 2013
PuppetsandStuff is a fantastic site.  I have a degree in puppet arts and have been incorporating them as much as possible in my live theatre work.  I found a lot of my puppet building skills were transferable in the construction of props.  My husband is a TD for a school and recently they have been asking for puppets in their productions, which makes me very happy!  Glad to be here.

Hello from fellow Texan I live in Pflugerville(by Austin).  Love prop building.  Wow, puppet arts, they did not have that when I was in college, must have been cool homework. What is a TD?  Technical Director?

Yes, technical director.    When I went to college, 2001, it was only 1 of 2 programs in the US offering puppetry coursework on the undergrad level.  We live over in Houston now.  I haven't been to Austin yet, but I hear its beautiful.  How is the puppet scene over in your area?

I'll post some pics soon.  Thank you for the warm welcome!

Shawn, I knew there was something even more special about you. We'd accept you back. Saw a toddler T-Shirt once that said, "I wasn't born in Texas, but I got here as soon as I could."
