Puppetry For Camera Workshop - On Video Posted by Ruffus The Dog on Nov 16, 2013
This isn't a real thing yet but we've been making plans for quite a while to put one of these together and I just thought I'd test the waters here to better judge how much something like this might be wanted by the community.

We used to conduct performance-for-camera workshops in the Sheep Shop years ago but always just for a small group of invited folks who seemed truly dedicated enough to follow through.  The idea to commit the workshop to video has always been hanging around.  Normally we do it over 5 days - very thorough and intensive (homework and everything!) - and the notion was to bring together a core group of local performers, conduct the full workshop with them and an audience in attendance and then edit it down for time and also include interviews with other seasoned performers and an audience Q&A section.

So my question, I guess, is this:  If we committed something like this to video how many people would be interested in seeing such a thing?

The account here for me is Ruffus The Dog - but I'm really Robert Mills - http://www.robbomills.net/about/ - in case anyone was worried about learning puppet performance from a talking dog.

I think there would be a lot of interest in this.  The Center For Puppetry Arts in Atlanta has been doing workshops both online and in the class room that they record for later viewing and it seems to be going very well.

Boy, I would love something like this.  Can't always travel to good workshops, but can always watch from the comfort of my bed in my jammies.

(Life should be lived in jammies.)
