Monster Matchup Posted by puppetcreativevideos on Nov 17, 2013
I've created 2 new characters for what I hope will be a weekly series.  My wife had the idea... we built for a week... then I was up until 6am voicing, performing, and editing the video.  I voice and perform both Omar and Vincent.

Admittedly, I'm a complete "Omar" when it comes to sports.  My son and my wife are my "Vincent".

Great job! what a unique way for a family to work together. Keep 'em coming.

Really nicely done! I assume since you voiced and performed both that each was recorded then combined. Great accomplishment. They really seem to be in the same room talking to each other. The dialogue is very natural and well written.

Watermelon!  Loved it, and I don't even like football.

Yes very good. Nice and fluid. Did you  do voice recording first then perform to the  audio?

The audio is pre-recorded and then edited together.  I usually adlib off of an outline.  I don't like the conversation to sound  to "scripted".  Then I record each puppet lip-syncing on a blue screen.  Then a bit of video editing.

Do you find it easier to pre-record and then lipsync?  Hadn't thought of that option.

Since I'm the only puppeteer and the only voice (and the voices overlap), then I guess it's not only easier, but a necessity.

I feel smart :D  I mean, how difficult do you find doing it that way?

There are some things that I really like for lip-syncing, and others that just need to be done live.  I guess I gauge it on a piece-by-piece basis.

I even did a live show where the songs were pre-recorded and all the dialogue was live.  My son ran the audio off his laptop and I was on a mic. Everything went into the same sound system, so I think it worked out pretty well. It helped not having to sing and perform.
