Need ideas for a new puppet Posted by Jungle joe on Nov 20, 2013
Hi Everyone,
I introduced a new puppet to my collection and need some really good ideas. Its a Giraffe puppet, with latex head and hooves. Nice tall, full body and tried my best to make it good looking. For details please click here. Giraffe Latex Puppet

I like him. What kinds of ideas are you looking for, personality, scipts, costumes.  I was thinking how that long neck would be great place for bow ties, collars, ties, Turtle necks.  Or maybe things that should not be on necks get stuck on his because he pokes his head where he should not.  When I saw real ones I loved their long tongues hanging out to the side and flopping around their noses.  Putting some weight in the end of a floppy tongue can give it more movement.

Well I admit my mistake, I should have taken time to understand your problem and I admit I was too quick to jump to a conclusion and offer suggestions. If I hurt your feelings in any way, I sincerely apologize for that and expect you would not be holding a grudge (which you are) any more.
Now why don't you share something useful with us about that new puppet? A joke, a script, costume or anything.

Thank you for the apology. I will admit that I was wrong in that I didn't think I'd get any reply at all. Thank you for proving me wrong.

But please don't tell me how I should feel.

No I don't think I will. For one thing, I am currently undergoing a long-term artists' block and all of my current brain cells are drowning under the weight of trying to get my own business back on track.

But here, as I'm feeling 'generous'... might I suggest that your wording on your Puppets in Science website needs to be changed?
"Ventriloquism is the art of projecting your voice so that it seems to come from another source. But is that scientifically possible? The answer is YES . "

If you can do ventriloquism, there is no need to ask whether it is 'scientifically' possible, since quite clearly, it is possible and if it wasn't possible, ventriloquism wouldn't exist at all. It's a nice little tautology, but pretty terrible as an example of science, if by science you mean using logic to come to a conclusion about one's surroundings. Perhaps you should work on the old before you start on the new.

Discussing "puppets in science" is not relevant, your suggestions are appreciated. This discussion is over. Thank you for replying to my posts.
