Patched Reflections Posted by TygerMin on Nov 20, 2013
My first real attempt at making a video blog. Went unscripted, probably will not do that again :D In it, we learn that singing is not Patches' main attribute.

Not bad for unscripted. Need some work on mouth sinc but that comes with practice. You really did pretty good. I think though I would have had him look into the camera instead of off to the side. I know you where having him look at the interviewer but in this case since we did not see the interviewer I think it would be more engaging if he responded to the camera.

I agree pretty good try for a first time. Did you have a monitor hooked up to your camera so you could view the puppet?

Thanks Will be working on the second one and will take your advice Shawn.
Billy, I used my phone so I could see but I found myself not paying attention to the screen. For the songs, I was reading lyrics on a laptop, and for the dialogue I was concentrating more on what I should say. Another multitask that I need practice on.

This was good! Pretty good for an unscripted scene! I have to admit, it made me laugh a little. But I like it! I'm familiar with unscripted material. (Because everything I do is unscripted haha) You'll be surprised with what you can come up with on the spot!

That was cute! I agree with looking at the camera more. There were a couple of points where I could hear indrawn breath, and I would love to see Patches do more breathing. Rock on, Patches!

Nice. I would get Patches to move his neck a little, rock head side to side, look up and down, turn head and keep body straight. Small little movements make puppets look more alive. Try to do a scene with only movements and no talking so you can focus just on moving for practise. Have someone else suggest situations and see if you can figure out how to make it happen.
