I'm loving the series too! I learn what I can and I agree with Julie that I wish they showed a bit more of "how it's made". I want one of those "Band Your Head Here" walls! LOL

I think this weeks show Ep2 was so much better than the first. Is it me of are they shorter than Face off Ep’s? Because the whole thing seems a bit whirl wind for me and doesn’t seem to be as much in-depth as the Face off episodes.
Loved the skeksis they designed. Thought they looked pretty darn awesome for 3 days! Wish I could produce that quickly but hey. Like you guys have said its a lot easier to do when you have everything at your fingertips. Like ready made eyes, skulls, basic mech’s and all the bits and bobs we only dream about. *Sign*
Great to see it on main stream TV and a once secret industry being shown to the public. Awesomes stuff.

The Junk Monsters this week was pretty cool. Interesting how they're doing teams so often these first 3 episodes, waiting to see individual challenges to experience the artists full body of work / style. Hearing one person this week say "hope it holds it's all hot glue" is funny I think we've all been there for one project or another

Ok I've finally been able to catch up on these DVR'd episodes. I think maybe I am going to have a love hate relationship with this show.
Just like with Face Off, I hate that the builds are two to three days long. It gives the general public a false sense of the time it can take for most companies to design and build something that is truly show or camera ready. At least with JHCSC they acknowledge over and over that this is very unique. I think both the judges and the masters that work with the contestants have all said it more then once in each show.
I was a bit put off by the drama that others mentioned in first episode but in the following episodes it was not as bad and it really did illustrate the importance of working as a team. Spoiler Alert[\b] You notice that the one person that did not work well as a team player is gone now and that the other was real close to going home.
I realize that this show is designed to appeal to the masses but there is a lot of stuff there that can be useful to beginners and even intermediate builders. While they may not go into detail about things you at least get to see the guts of some things. For me if you show me the guts I can figure things out. Even for an old dog like me I see some of what they are doing and go yep that is how I figured it out. One example is the "teeter totter" mech used in the robot episode. Used that many years ago on a dragon head that had to be in an opera.
I say it worth the watch and does give puppetry a decent public face.

Wow, went to catch up, and episodes 2 and 3 are locked. They are only showing them to preferred subscribers which doesn't include Time Warner Cable. Wow.

Wait if you have TWC you should be able to watch them through the on demand menu... that is unless they changed things. No longer with TWC... now with Google Fiber. Yea!

Forgot to mention that I am on very basic cable :D If I had another package, it would be no problem.

I just watched episode 3 today. Loved it! I didn't pick the winner, oh well. It's anyone's game with these short challenges.
I also drool over the workshop and all the stuff so readily available. The mentors are awesome too. I think if I were there I would be dumbstruck all the time! I think I'm dumbstruck at home just watching! LOL
