I was fortunate enough to see this film a few weeks back and I liked it a lot! I wasn't too engaged by the trailers so I honestly went in with low expectations but was ultimately impressed with what I saw.

Much like the rest of the Muppet movies, this film does not take itself very seriously at all. It even opens with a song that mentions how sequels are never as great as the original. This treatment is genius because the plot of the film is actually pretty terrible, but you don't mind since the characters are aware of it and they keep things light as the story moves forward. LOTS of humor. Our audience could not stop laughing.

There's a really impressive song/dance scene with Constantine and Ricky Gervais called 'I'm Number One". I'd love to see what the rig looks like on Constintine that allowed them accomplish some of these shots. Some of it is green screen'd but most of it looks like plate cleaning. The arm wires for all the wired puppets are also painted out like they were in The Muppets. Lots and lots of impressive puppetry! Puppets with props, challenging sets, human/puppet interaction. All expertly done.

I also liked the music a lot better in this film than I did in the first but I missed Amy Adams and Jason Segel. I wish they had been involved again! Tina Fey doesn't really shine in her role but Gervais did a wonderful job. There also wasn't a lot of Walter, which was weird considering his role in the previous film.

Overall I was really impressed and will see it again!

This is welcome news as I have had serious worries and doubts about this film.  I'm a life-long Muppet fan and was only marginally impressed with The Muppets.  It just didn't seem to have the same heart as the originals. 

I hope this film does well and I hope to see lots more of the Muppets, provided they can capture the warmth and spirit of the originals just a little better than they have in the past. 

Me too I just want them back strong!

Saw this yesterday.  Loved it!

Can't wait!  Been enjoying all the little videos they have been putting out.  My kids are also looking forward to it.

It's a shame we all can't go together.  What fun we would have!

Did anyone see this over the weekend?  It seems to be under performing compared to Divergent.  My worries for a good Muppet movie have started to creep back up. 

Well my Meetup group organized and went on opening night. There was quite a few people there...but not a full house.
I enjoyed it!
