Do you have any pictures  you may be able to supply of how you glued the mouth in? There should be more then enough contact area. What type of glue did you use?

I used hot glue on mine, as per that being ok via my instructions, & now wished I had used a regular craft glue like Aileen's tacky glue instead. Mine has wrinkles on the inside the mouth area too, though it's luckily not noticeable from a short distance. I think maybe it's one of those learn as you go things maybe. Maybe getting used to just how much glue to use & where. I may decide to take the mouth out & try making another for it in hopes of not having that problem. Best of luck Ornaona.

When I used the Brazil puppet design I glued a 2cm strip of foam (the same size as the mouthplate) onto the top of the mouthplate. I then used contact cement on the side of this foam and on the inside of the mouth..it gives some extra surface area for grip.

It woukd really help to see a photo, also I usually make mine out of cardboard first use tape to attach them togetger then use pins to pin it in place to test the shape and size.

I think sometimes it depends on what thickness of foam you use, as sometimes using a foam that is too thick will cause bunching or the wrinkles that you are getting around the mouth, too much foam being squashed will often cause that, I see in one of the photos that the thickness is probable about 2 inches and in my experience it is way too thick, I normally go for about 1 inch at the thickest and in some areas I use 1/2 inch thickness foam (sometimes just for the general mouth areas to prevent those sort of problems) but I have taken a look at your puppets and they are all very cool, great looking!!

I think Jeezbo is right your foam is a little too thick. Also your mouth plate looks a little thin.   Try Neminems' idea of adding a strip of foam to the edge that you can then glue to the face foam.
