Searching for the best Puppeteer dvd. Posted by squirrely on Mar 27, 2014
Is there a great puppeteer dvd out there that I can find.  That basics of puppeteering to the next teachings?  Like a college type puppeteer dvd.  Just wondering.

Yup, been searching all day and night.  Been teaching myself Puppeteer by the books and short videos on youtube.  I want to find a good dvd with great puppeteer lessons.

No one has really done that, not on a very advanced level at least.

If you're in Texas and want advanced training, you should check out the upcoming Beyond The Sock Workshop. They still have some places open I believe.

I think it's much, much better to learn puppetry in a group, in person with an experienced puppeteer if you can get the opportunity.

I agree with Andrew...though I haven't had that experience yet.  If your driving distance from Des Moines, then there is a puppet convention in May which isn't very expensive.  http://www.puppetcorn.com/

As for videos, I am looking at some recorded classes here http://puppet.org/edu/dis_programs-recorded.shtml.  Haven't tried any but will be looking at Puppetering for TV and Film and Fun with Foam.  Will post something when I watch one of those.
