Thanks That is a good idea, will have to try it on the next test, when I get the legs and feet finished.

Great job. You do need to get him to be more active during walking, but what I noticed the most is that you have a stage-left bias. The whole time the puppet seems to be looking in the direction of your-left (stage left), so you'll need some practice being able to make eye contact with whatever is happening in whichever direction your audience is in. I agree with Rhoady, the idea of a sort of jerk effect would be cool. ... Actually if you watch Wallace and Gromit's "The Wrong Trousers" you might see some ideas for movement too.

Why not wrap "arms" of robot around the middle box like he is carrying it. The puppet could have a screwdriver and look like he is working on the Robot. I used the dryer tubing for robot arms once they are bulky but they did look good. A slinky covered in a fabric tube might give the same type look for smaller arms. another thought is that the robot is so stiff that it might add interest if there were attachments on the box that moved when walking like an orange juice can lid attached close to one side that might rotate with movements. Also some bouncy antennae or springs. Or how about a few small blinking lights. I got a small string of battery operated christmas lights that are great for mobile applications.

Tyger,
Sorry it took so long to get back to you with a larger image. See if you can use this. Still not as large as I would like it to be for you but perhaps if you put it to the left or right of on your "sticker" you can then fill the rest of the area with some clever saying.
