AaronTV, not sure where in Aus you are but I've never seen anything quite so beautiful as that during my travels!

Lizzie, not sure if you misread my post or I'm misreading yours but it's not making sense to me. Sydney by the way.

I wish we had landscapes like that in Australia. It makes me excited that winter will be here shortly though (for us in the southern hemisphere at least).
Apologies for the confusion, I just meant I've traveled widely and have never seen anything quite so spectacular during our winters. Plenty of other beautiful sights though, including my home town. I'm in Coffs Harbour.

The production quality of the video is awesome. I really dug it, it had me completely invested. I love the creature,  I even went back to your older posts to remind myself of how you made some of it.  Being a big music lover, including hip hop, I really liked the song too. The whole package was really great!!

EXcellently Done. Wonderful. So very cinematic. I hope you keep doing such productions. Let us know as you do. Krafty Karacters, would you be able to post some of those posts' links here so others (me) can go take a look at the backstory of this cool Vid? Thanks.

Glad you like the video! Thank you all for your thoughtful feedback. This video was filmed in the Sierra and Trinity mountains in California.

when you reference a relatively tiny budget, how relatively tiny are we talking? I just can't imagine how you could produce something of that quality without outlaying much.

I still need to add up the receipts, but I think I invested about $1600 in this project over the course of the three winters during which it was filmed. I think the puppets themselves were made for about $300-$500 each, and the rest of the budget went to fuel and food. I work as a freelance animator and VFX artist, and to put things in perspective, a music video like this done by a full production company would cost $10k-$20k, or a lot more if the creatures were CG.

Those behind the scenes videos show monsters in progress for the next video in the series. I'll be releasing a trailer for that video soon.

Thanks for the backstory links Krafty Karacters. Very interesting journey historianhimself.
Re: FINALLY FINISHED! music video with monsters Posted by historianhimself on May 20, 2014
Thanks. The journey has been a pretty long one... The music in the video is a remix of a song I made for an album I released about five years ago. About 2 years ago I raised funds to shoot the videos by selling hand-painted CDs and pitching the video concepts to my online audience. You see the pitch on my website here:

Also I just released the teaser trailer for the second video in the series (which features a plethora of monsters) and that can be seen here:

thanks again to everyone for their interest and feedback!
