Thanks   For a comic con, I take that as a compliment :D  I do wish I was able to do the robot, but I am glad this works.  Now just to work on voice and walking.

Yes, definitely a compliment. I think a lot of what we see on TV in terms of creatures tend to be a bit... same-y. Yours is different which is always a good thing!

I hope you do manage to continue with the robot. I liked that too

I have to admit, I like the robot better. Not that this doesn't look awesome. Haha I just got pumped for the robot so any plan B would fall slightly flat in my eyes.

Overall an awesome plan B. You accomplished a lighter form of the robot's build just like you wanted that looks great and comes with its own box to boot! Like Na said there is something...weird about it. I can't put my finger on it. Maybe it's the cheery purple guy staring me down all friendly then over his shoulder I see a giant eye monster glaring me down. It's like you know theirs a story there but I don't know what it is and it scares me haha!

Looks great! What are you going to do for the legs?

LOL...sad thing is, I have to come up with a story now because I know I will be asked.  I have this bad tendency of building first, thinking it through later.  Had no idea what the puppet would look like when I did the eye.  Probably along the lines of the eye being the guardian that allows the puppet to walk around in this dimension, the box acting like a dimensional portal.  Wish I had some spare LED's to sell that one :D

That is a good question and the con is tomorrow.  I may simply cover my shoes with the same fur as the eye to give it a tentacle look, as if the creature is throughout the body.

You did a good job for this type. I've never tried something like this. For the future a few things I noticed that it seemed to be missing to perpetuate the illusion: from the photos the single eye looks more like a mouth with a hole in it. It probably because my brain just wants to see and eye or eyes in the head. Because of the blue fabric it looks more like a mouth area. I know that things sometimes look different in person. If you could make fake arms/hands for the furry guy wrapping around the box it would give more of an illusion that he is holding the box.  Like Shawn mentioned your legs/feet should also have the appearance that they belong to the furry guy. The shoes are a good idea, but you could also tear some holes in the pants and add fur peaking out as if he stole a humans pants.

Back story...moving day on planet whatever.

Good job. Hope you have fun at the convention. Where is it?

Dallas.  So, after an hour with the head, it came off and has stayed off.  Interactions are better.  Scaring and delighting kids, and getting great reactions from adults.  But if I am called Muppet one more time.... :D. pics later.

Glad you had a great time, but pity about the head.

Sounds like you are having a good time with him. Get used to being called a Muppet... no getting away from that one.
