I'm building a Kermit and im trying to work out the best way to attach the eyes and also best way to make and attach the mouth plate and lips to mouth

Any tips would be a huge help

Normally you don't really have mouth plate for a Kermit style puppet. It is simply a piece of fabric sewn in to the head so everything is pliable. Are you using a pattern?  What are you using for the eyes? Most folks would hot glue them on or try to put small holes in the bottom in order to sew them on.

Kermit would actually have a mouthplate, just using fabric would not close correctly or lay flat. I use gasket rubber sheets that you can find at places like Lowes or Home Depot...

Im using halfed ping pong balls for the eyes , im stuck for how to attach these and keep them on .

You may want to glue some foam into the two halves, and then glue the foam to the head. I personally use the half domes you can purchase from Out of the Box, you can either use the post molded on the eye, or cut the post off and glue it to the eye without it.
