Google honours Australian puppeteer Posted by Na on May 29, 2014
Today's google image for Australian searches (google.com.au) honours Norman Hetherington, a local puppeteer. Not sure how to link to the image but it can be seen via this news article:

He was most famous for his work with marionettes.

I saw this on Google and thought it was pretty cool, brought back those memories of Mr. Squiggle. I have to admit that I still imitate the blackboard sometimes when using the phrase "upside down". :P

I sometimes do the "hurry up!" I didn't see much of the show as a kid, but I saw far more of it than I did the Muppets or Sesame Street. Or at least I remember it far more than I do the others. I remember hating Gus quite a lot; my surname being Guss it bothered me that his name was 'mispelled'

I think it's a bit odd that they honoured him now a couple of years after his death though; and a few days before 'his 93rd birthday'. Seems silly to me. My guess is they had a list of people and this was the soonest they could put him in the roster.
