I have just joined the forum and very keen to learn puppetry as this is something that is new to Norfolk Island. It has not been done here and by the way if you wonder where the heck Norfolk Island is, just do a Google search and you will see how remote an island we are.
I look forwards to browsing and learning and yet to build my first puppet.

Welcome to Puppets and Stuff!
I was curious where Norfolk Island so Googled... We have some members close to you... ok close may be relative in this case but bet they will know without having to Google.

It would be great to connect with any member close by, as puppetry has never been done here on Norfolk Island and I am excited with the prospect of starting out small and then growing it.
If there are any persons whom are close by and think they may travel to Norfolk Island in the future, I would love to meet them and share their ideas and tips.

and puppet entertainment could be a good thing for the kids and maybe the adults too.

Yay Norfolk Island!!! Of course I know where it is. I am from NZ... but I am in Colombia, South America, so we are still neighbors! I did sail by, back in the 80's, but we did not get to stop.
. maybe one day we might get there. Welcome to the forum.

Welcome Almac2! You may want to have a talk to unima.org.au, the Australian branch of the international puppetry organisation. They may have resources or people you could tap into. Also take a look at unima.org, the HQ of UNIMA and see if they have any funding opportunities.

Hello Pagestep007 I may have spoken to you on the radio if you called up on channel 16 while sailing by?? I worked for Customs back then...and hey if you ever want to come to Norfolk Island please feel free to contact me.
I think I may have also seen your videos on U Tube and they are brilliant. I looked at one about applying skin to the puppet using silicon? It has made me even more keen to start.
