Hi guys!
My name is Sam - I am posting here on your lovely forum today on behalf of the Norwich Puppet Theatre. The Norwich Puppet Theatre is one of just a handful of dedicated puppetry centres in the UK. As I'm sure many of you are, we are very passionate about puppetry as an art form; we have been putting on many visually amazing shows and informative but fun workshops for families and adults for almost 35 years. Now, we want to celebrate the art form and the anniversary of our building by putting on the best Christmas show possible; and we need YOUR help to do it!
We have launched a Kickstarter project today to put on a Christmas show in December called Beauty and the Beast to celebrate the commencement of our 35th year anniversary as an inspirational centre of puppetry and related arts. The show is being directed by Gavin Glover, previously a founder of the award winning FaultyOptic, and a dedicated team of puppeteers and producers; it puts an exciting twist on an old fairytale by setting it in 1920s America. The aim is to reach £2,000 to help us do several things that otherwise would not be possible;
- It will help us to renovate our marionette bridge which hasn't been used in over 20 years; mixing and celebrating different kinds of puppetry and arts over the years (including rod marionettes, shadow puppetry and even digital animation) is a fundamental part of the show.
- Create brand new and very versatile puppets designed to visually amaze the whole family.
- Fund three of puppetry's newest talents to come on board as interns and help develop their future puppetry careers.
This project is about celebrating the past, the present and the future of puppetry, which is what makes it so exceptional. Norwich Puppet Theatre has been providing fantastic puppetry shows and informative workshops for nearly 35 years now and, along with puppetry as a medium, it is a heritage that demands to be celebrated - and , with your support, we will do so in the best way possible!
Any donation from the worldwide puppetry community, no matter how much it is, will be hugely appreciated. Even the tiniest mention of our Kickstarter page on your website or one of your social networking pages would be a step for us as we want to put on the best show possible with Beauty and the Beast. Your help to celebrate the medium with us would be greatly received and would absolutely make our 35th anniversary year!

We're now HALFWAY THROUGH our Kickstarter campaign for Beauty & The Beast. We even made an update video to show you our progress;
