Good Evening from the UK!! Posted by puppeteergal1346 on Dec 22, 2014
Just popping by to say a quick Hello!

So, about me; well, I'm a life-long Muppet fan from the UK, who's starting to delve deeper into puppetry.  I'm awaiting the delivery of my first professional-grade puppet (though I've had starter ones on-&-off throughout my life), and one day I hope to build at least one of my own design.  So, I've registered with this forum to help me in my puppetry journey.

Welcome! I hope you'll post a picture of the puppet when you get it. Do you know what kind of puppet you want to try building?

Mrbumblepants; I'm not quite sure yet, but I'm currently thinking that one of my detective characters would make a cool puppet!  A bit like Sam Spade from The Maltese Falcon.  Or just a creature that can be any character I think of, but then everyone does monsters at some point!

jeezbo; I'm from the Lincolnshire area of the UK, how about you? As for my incoming puppet, I'm waiting on one of Nutty Puppets' one-of-a-kind human characters called Charles, and I'm looking forward to working with the arm rods.

And, thanks to everyone who's welcomed me so far; I can't wait to get exploring this forum and really delving into puppetry.

A detective sounds fun! And yeah, I think monsters are a very good thing to start with - because whatever they end up looking like, they're perfect.

I'm from Nottingham, so not too far away from you!! it sounds like you have a good puppet on its way to you, I always think its better to spend a little more and get a puppet that you can actually use properly.

its always an easy option to start with a 'monsteresque' puppet like mrmumblepants said as you can really go wrong, they are supposed to look slightly dishevelled anyway, so it covers a multitude of sins when it comes to accidents when you are building it, but go with whatever you feel is right for you, its important to really connect with what you are building!!
