Would the Henson Stitch work maybe?

A ladder stitch (common name for Henson Stitch) would work fine for this. Really any type of stitch would work since it is fur. In fact you don't really have stitch you could still glue it. Because fur has such a long nap so to speak it is really easy to hide seams. Just make sure to pull the fur back away from the area you are gluing or sewing then when done comb it back over the seam area.
