Agree- I really am presently partial to the smaller marionettes. I'm working on a tramp marionette- 12 inches tall. I am trying my hand at carving the head from basswood, next the hands and the feet. We'll see how this goes. Thank you for responding to the height of your tight rope walker. Cheers! Bob

Balance, weighting and motion can be a bit of an issue with smaller scale marionettes, but with any marionette you are going to be working things out and trying to find that sweet spot that does everything you hoped it would. You will find ways round plenty of issues through trial and error and asking the folks on here for advice. For example, the tightrope walker has neodymium magnets in his feet to help get a clean walk action on the 'rope' while the ballerina has a unique vertical control that helps hold her hands/ legs in fixed positions to help the accuracy of her movement. Good luck with your build!

It's very interesting to see marionettes doing acrobatics. Seems kind of like the ultimate test of marionetting skill.

I was struck by how real and human like the movements were, like they were tiny humans. That took a lot of skill, awesome.
