Building off of an old Halloween prop Posted by mrbumblepants on Sep 06, 2015
A friend gave me some kind of ghoul in a tombstone a few years ago. It was supposed to do some kind of cool thing, but they could never get it to work. After looking it over earlier this week, I decided I'll be transforming it into a friendlier, less scary looking puppet to go along with Cadaver Dave. Pictures can be found through this link:

So far, I've taken off the old fabric, and painted the nails a bright sparkly green. There is a head, and then two hands attached to a plastic collar by some bendable wire. I'm going to put some ping pong balls in the eye sockets. I think I won't resculpt the face, but instead will try using paint to make it less frightening.

Still trying to decide on a costume for this puppet. I originally wanted to go with a brown sweater vest & a flat cap - but with the sparkly nail polish, maybe something more glam.

The tombstone is going to become a portable puppet stage. For that I just need to cut out the bottom, then maybe attach a curtain in the front. This puppet might not fit in there, but I can always use it just for Dave and Cedric the Sunflower.

Casper the friendly ghost had a big red bow tie I think, that would make anything less scary. Funny cartoonish eyes would be less intimidating too. A tiny voice would seem ridiculous if it talks.  Looks like a lot of work hope it comes out well.

I quite liked it in its original form to be honest! Add some mouth movement (if possible) and some deep set eyes and some movement to the hands and you'd have someone that wouldn't look out of place of "Corpse Bride"

"New arrival!"

Snail, may make a fall colored plaid bow tie to match my other Halloween puppet. I do have a shiny orange bow tie, but I have something else in mind.

DavidNagel, hopefully my husband will be designing some eyes for me. I mentioned gluing some gems in, and he thought that was too uncanny valley. I thought it would be amusing.
