Adam Savage Makes a Puppet! Posted by David on Jan 29, 2016
Rick Lyon and other possible Avenue Q alumni help Adam Savage (I only know him from Mythbusters, not been a follower of his since that show ended airing here in the UK) build a puppet!
Not bad.
Not bad.

What I enjoyed the most is that I employ pretty much the same materials and techniques as the pros.

The beads in the arm thing is new to me, I shall see about how well that works!

I love that it shows the design process in such detail. I agree with David the beads in the arm are intriguing.

My thought was this would encourage anyone on the fence that they can do this too. I love the discussions about design. I love this video and I love the child like glee, and scientific curiosity that Adam Savage showed for puppet construction, it is contagious. I love that man!

Just stumbled on this video when YouTube suggested it. Been feeling very blah and second guessing myself again, watching this has re-inspired me to try a few things. I have yet to attempt a puppet without a project puppet pattern and I never used arm rods. The extra movement shown in this video, especially with the beads, is very encouraging. Going to have to revisit design and try it out on a few. Especially using the full size drawing.

Rod arms are pretty cool too, give them a try.
