There you are! Posted by Tired_Yeti on Oct 10, 2016
Hello!
Recently rediscovered my love for ventriloquism and puppetry. First saw Jay Johnson on "Soap" and was star struck with ventriloquism and I BEGGED my mom to get me a figure. My first figure was a Horsman Dolls "Willie Talk". Later when I was about 12, I started doing puppet shows at a summer camp. The team I worked with had been trained by a guy who had worked Jim Henson's Muppets/Sesame Street. I learned a lot and fell in love with puppeteering. As life moves on I got away from puppets altogether. Then within a few weeks of graduating high school, someone gave me a Horsman Dolls "Simon Sez". I've had it ever since but didn't really do anything with it. I had focused on music instead.
I've recently rediscovered my love of puppetry and ventriloquism (there you are!) and I hope to actually get my act together (how'd that lousy pun get in there!) and begin performing.
I found this site while searching for a place to ask a question about the care and feeding of a puppet I recently bought. I hope to not only get help here but to grow in my knowledge to the point that I can help others one day.
