Favourite types of puppets?? Posted by cirques on Nov 18, 2016
I'm curious what your favourite type of puppet is !!
Hand puppets, finger puppets, marionettes, animatronic, fullbody?? Maybe ventriloquist puppets?
What about your favourite sub-type if there's more than one kind??
Here's a good reference if you need it !!

Wow, to many puppet types on that list!!! But, I think some of them are variables of the main categories talking about puppets and there are some missing. Ok ok we are not discussing that , LOL
I love all kinds !!!!!
1- My Favorite ones are Hand and rod puppets (Muppet kind)
2- Rod puppets and the variants
After that all of them, I have never try pneumatic or hydraulic, but is in my wish list

In the past, I used to be crazy about anything Muppet style puppets. I even learned to build some when my daughter was born here on PnS. But as I am growing older, I am finding that I am more into marionettes as time goes by. It may be an age thing, no idea. I just love the finesse of them. But of course, show me a puppet of any kind and you will get my attention, no matter what kind it will be. I am a sucker for puppets and it is THE subject that makes the kid in me laugh constantly.

I like Muppet-style Live-hands puppets. I feel like I can get more character out of them. I also like puppets that work with the human-body to create a common illusion. For example, Audrey II in Little Shop of Horrors is one of my favorite examples of that because while in Pod 3, the third stage, you use your arms to move the top and bottom jaw, you also have subtleties with minor movement and moving your whole upper body to create this pod effect. Not to mention, the root tights that you wear give it arm-like motion and more motion in addition to the puppetty portion of the character.
