They are some missing links and some that are outdated. Most of them opened for me.

Alejandro Ramón over at FB has been posting some patters in the Puppet Makers Workshop group.  He just posted a link to his site where he is indexing them all and thought I would share it here. http://www.youppets.com/puppet-patterns-recopilation-recopilacion-de-patrones-de-marionetas/  The site is mainly in Spanish but he translates text in many places and the patterns are mainly marked in English.  No real detailed instructions with these so I would say they are not for beginners unless you know how to read a pattern.

Hey thanks for the updates on these!  I know sometimes info get's old in threads like this but hate to get rid of them because of the info that is still good in them. I've used some of your overview to update the FAQ on this subject. http://puppetsandstuff.com/community/faq

Great.  That is a good collection on the FAQ.  Many thanks to Billy for the collection he has in his album. This is  actually the first time I have looked at it all... (ahem...)

A few observations and questions:

In the popular mechanics PDF in Billy's album, Celastic is mentioned. Has anyone  used it? I have never heard of it even though it has been around my entire lifetime.

The  Blue Boy PDF.. so THAT is where that pattern came from! I was given it years ago and this year I finally tried it out, and it is sitting on the table in my patio waiting for  some arms to be attached.

Barbara Dewey patterns, one of the links in this thread above, lead you to the patterns that are in Billy's album

Brazil Puppets... has anyone covered their ones with fleece? I  tried one in foam and the tension around the  mouth was too much for my liking. I was wondering if  cloth covering would give it  more strength.

The Fraggle head... is it copy-written? And just wondering... Kermit and Scooter in the thread above... are they copy-written?

In one of the  threads listed in the  FAQ,

The link is still working

ArthurS has some gridded pics of  some patterns on his blog http://puppetsmitharts.blogspot.com/
hands
bodies
claw and horn head
scooter
various heads and hands
all foams I presume, no skins.

And Gabriel's fish  is  still on his blog.  CMT ministries.

And last  question:
If we want to share non copy-written patterns, would it be a good idea to somehow get them to Billy to put in his Album, as it is a good  'in one place' collection. And if so, what is the best way to do that?

Buratino here is made from the Brazil pattern and is covered with fleece. I had no problem with strength or durability at all, and very much like the pattern, largely because it differs so from most of the other patterns out there. I had to enlarge it a little to fit my hand, but beyond that, I thought it an excellent pattern.

Regarding copyright, the Kermit and Scooter patterns are from a dissection of toy versions of the puppets I believe. I guess that technically they would be copyrighted but they have been around for ever and no one has challenged them. The Fraggle one in Billy's gallery is from a member here that was trying to reproduce the shape and what she came up with through trial and error. Not really the original so I would say that on is free and clear of copyright.

You could try PM'ing Billy or catching him on FB but I say just upload them to your own Gallery and then put a post here about them.

I agree with Shawn! a lot of the patterns in my album have been circulating on the internet for years with mo problem. It seems we have had multiple discussions on copyrights in one thread or another. I have a lot of stuff on external hard drives that would take a bit of searching but I can find anything in question. I would say upload it to a gallery and then add it to this updated post. We can deal with if it is legal or not. My theory is whenever in doubt leave it out and save it for your own records or share in a PM with other members.n

Thanks Shawn and Billy. I am not paranoid or anything. I just wondered about the copyright stuff. All sounds good. I generally work with the idea of making my own stuff anyway, and a plus with that is, you can sleep at night knowing that if anyone says anything, you know for sure that you designed it, and you have some sort  of proof of the making of it. It is true though, that even if you make your own patterns, sometimes they end up looking like some other pattern , because there is often similar logic in the way things go together.  Thanks again.
