I know it’s weird, but does anyone have any sources for the usage of puppets in kids therapy. I am doing a research project and need some sources thanks!

Puppets are great in therapy. For Children the can relate to the puppet better than an adult, it is a kid like them. Here are two examples:
My brother-in-law is a psychologist who had a child patient who lost his home and mother in a fire and did not talk anymore. I had a blue puppet with a mohawk that no one in my puppet group was using so I asked him if he wanted to use the puppet. He said the boy grabbed the puppet eagerly and talked to him thru the puppet and then later talked to him directly. It was a huge break through for him. My brother-in-law said to send him as many puppets as I could for the other kids.
I taught a class where we wrote and performed a skit to explain all we had learned in the class. One of the boys was socially very shy, I think he was autistic a little. When we got to the part where we prerecorded the voices he came out with the most hilarious voice and we all burst out laughing, he liked that attention. From that moment on he was the star of the show. His mother was in tears and said she had never seen him come out of his shell like this, it was a turning point in his life.
When I was a kid they used a snake in my speech therapy class to get me to say SSSSSs right.
