This is Haze, a hand puppet that we made for the Eurofurence 25 puppet-show (I made the head, several friends helped to build the body - we spent about 500€ on materials and it took us ca. 200 hours to build her).
Here's a video of her in public https://twitter.com/i/web/status/1165709838049062914

I filmed how I made this hand puppet last year - here are some videos (there is more material - not enough time for editing):

I started working on a new hand-puppet for the Eurofurence Pawpet-Show. If you would like to support the show, go to https://www.patreon.com/pawpetshow/overview
This time it will make a rabbit hand-puppet. I modified the 3d-model my bunny costume head base (added a plate in the upper jaw for the puppeteer's hand).

https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2805975
The model was 3d-printed with Amazon Basics PLA.

The lower jaw was connected by making a peg with Plaast (the company making plaast is no longer in business - I'll switch to another manufacturer).
The teeth and tongue were hand-sculpted. I designed a rotatable hinge for the ears that have holes for cable ties - I used those to attach felt ears.

The eyes were made with ping bong balls and my 3d-printed movable eyelids.

They are assembled like this:
The body was made using my usual body pattern with a cheap camping mat and hot glue.

The hand-rods end inside a 3d-printed disc that can rotate inside the hand of the puppet.

It's now ready to put the fur on.

Good job. The video and sound quality are great - and also your German is easy to understand.

I have used Worbla to make antlers for a deer puppet. Worbla dies work, but it's not a tough material. If you need more structural stability use Wonderflex underneath.

Snow leopard hand puppet Posted in Snow leopard hand puppet on Aug 14, 2018
Here's a new hand puppet build for the Eurofurence Pawpet-Show - an anthropomorphic snow leopardess.
One of my friends drew an initial sketch of her - I used it and several photos of real snow leopards as a reference to make a 3d-model of the head. The 3d-model was printed on my Anet A2 plus 3d-printer (Printed with PLA in 0.2mm layer height, 15% infill, no support material, with brim).
As usual, Plaast was used to glue the parts together, make the pins for the lower jaw and to sculpt the teeth and tongue (by hand).

I used painters tape to make a pattern for the fur on the head

The fur is from https://www.webpelzshop.de/
I cut the fur with a scapel on the backing of the fur
The body was build with foam using my standard pattern

I made a template for the fur on the body with packing paper

For attaching the hand rods to the hand I tried a new method which uses a 3d-printed connector (which can rotate the rod inside the hand)
The fur was cut and sewed together by hand
The eyes were painted by Pan Hesekiel Shiroi (http://pan-hesekiel-shiroi.de/). TaniDaReal (http://www.tanidareal.com/) airbrushed the body

I filmed the whole process - from design to the finished puppet. There are more videos to come.
