This should be fun! Can't wait till your entry is active. You might want to bump this thread when you do see it come up. I might forget to keep checking.
Re: the evolution of of erica evans and anna on V Posted in the evolution of of erica evans and anna on V on Mar 08, 2011
I've noticed that Anna no longer seems to have the eye twitch that she did in the first season and I think you are right that emotion seems to be more evident in her actions now. I don't know that Erica has become more alien but she is definitely more bad ass.
So since you never saw the original, I bet that the mother of Anna reveal was not quite as shocking to you. The actress playing the role played the role of Anna (actually called her Diana then) in the original.

Situations like you describe is one reason commission work can be so expensive. While you look at something and say "Well that puppet would take me X amount of hours to build." You still really need to add quite a few hours for the time taken in dealing with the client. You also have to take into consideration the chance that a majority of them may end up saying no in the end.
I don't blame you at all for your decision. I am much at the same point in my life. Individual custom work is just not for me. I may be willing to take on a full project of some kind but not simply building a puppet for one person. The pay out is just not enough and I often end up feeling a bit used.

Very cute.
I fixed the image for you. It is a bit of a "bug" in the code since I activated the new theme. Just have not had time to make changes to fix it.

Maybe but I don't know the first thing about puppet ministry. Any books out there?
My first thought was... "What is there to know?", but then I tend to make things up as I go along. It seems to me I remember someone here writing somthing about starting up a ministry or am I just dreaming. One Way Street has a lot of resources available.

Neat! Hmmm... I wonder if I could have the dentist engrave that on my teeth?

I work in wardrobe, hair and makeup in the theater industry. Most my gigs are doing local work for traveling tour shows. In each city most shows that tour need some local help since it cost to much to carry the entire crew that is needed with them. That is where the local folks like me come in. I also go out on the road from time to time with some shows. All this pays the bills for me.
I also do some web and design work but that is not as lucrative although I really enjoy it.
I used to be the master puppeteer for a local company and before then had my own company that toured but now don't do as much aside for the forum here in puppetry. I do on occasion take on a project if it really intrigues me.

Hmmm not sure why the pics are tiny.. I used the Gallery thought the full 800x5xx would show up..Yea the Gallery Image button only lets you insert the thumbnail image. I want to re-write the code at some point to allow you to grab the full image instead. Now that I have the function to auto reduce the images the need for the thumbnail here is not as important. The way I get around it right now is to go to the large image in the Gallery and right click and save the URL of the image. Then I pop back over to the post where I want to embed them and simply use the img tag. It is kind of a hassle. I get them fixed for you.

If you liked what Paul had to say in his on-line videos, you might want to try his e-book called Make Money With Puppets!. I am sure that others will be along also with some input also. I think you just have to keep at it and not let up. It also helps if you can find others in your area with the same passion for puppetry as you that can help in developing your market and product.
