Elfin' Marionette Posted by Nikole H. on Mar 12, 2007
I started on a new marionette today.  I decided to sculpt out of polymer clay...only took me 5 hours....ugh.  I was lucky that my son was napping for half of that time.  I'll try to add an image but be gentle as I am really bad with computers.  I'm aiming for this one to be a female...still needs makeup, hair, and costuming but so far I am really pleased with her.  She measures approximately the size of my hand so she is quite small.  She's a fairy and so I definitely wanted her to be to scale or at least what I imagine her to be.  My plan is to have her stand be on a flower with a vine that creeps up and holds her "airplane" mechanism.  Anyways....didn't want you all to think that I don't do anything.

She looks fantastic.  I particularly like the eyes.  How do you plan to dress her?
Also looking forward to seeing her strung.

Great work so far Nikole - I can't wait to see where she goes from here.

The soft sculpture warrior dancer's head is cool, too.

Can one person be an inspiration if the person that is inspiring is the one who was inspired by the first inspiration ?

Billy's my inspiration and Nikole is my puppet makin' girlie friend.

Puppet Love - Peace out,
Sonny

Okay, I added a little more to my marionette.  I added hair, make-up, eye lashes, and sparkle.  I'm going to dress her somewhat hawaiian...she'll be part of my Menehune Marionette line of puppets.  She is actually more durable than I thought she was because I found my son pulling, tossing, and twirling her around this morning.  I guess she is toddler proof....lol.  Anyways...here is another picture of her:

ah yes the wings.....that is going to be fun.  I am going to use the transfer product that allows you to sew freely fibers on and then it dissolves away in water leaving behind your joined fiber piece (wing shaped).

Cool avatar stiqman!!!
