Hi! I am new to Puppets and Stuff. Posted by Tiger on Aug 11, 2007
I am an artist, art educator and an art therapist. I have designed a couple of puppet making techniques while working in various educational, recreational and therapeutic environments.
I recently started a small puppet and craft company called Tigercandy Arts, inc. We specialize in a line of handmade sock puppets called Socketts and and two innovative puppet making kits (with a third on the way) that guide kids (and adults through the process of designing their own original puppets. My premier product The Sockett Kit recently one a Best Toy of the Year award from Creative Child Magazine. My line of sock puppets, has 27 original characters so far but new ones are being added all the time.
I am very interested in learning new forms of puppetry and am glad to be a new member of puppets and stuff.

Well done your your sock designs and congratulations on wining the toy award. That's quite an achievement! I myself designed a few sock designs for a TV pilot that was never shot here in North Carolina. I think the sock puppet is undersung in the puppet community. Its very versatile. A lot of my background characters in 99 Acre Woods are all sock puppets that have other pieces built onto them to give them a little more detail.

Actually, I was a bit slow witted, I found the site by doing a google search using the company name that was provided in the original post. All along it was in their profile, which I totally forget to check some times.
