OMG that is sooooooooooo cool!!! Great job! I have always loved your dolls on your Etsy site. This one is especially appealing to me because I love nature style dolls. The detailing on the wood grains are amazing!!! Seriously....WELL DONE!

my gosh... blush... if you only new how simple it is to do, just paint in a few lines thinking about the way the wood grain flows and that's it.
The fabric part was a little more interesting to do. but basically you cover a cord (or you can just twist up some of your fabric) and then you just couch it in place, then hand-sew up the sides of each cord.
Couching is when you take a stitch on sone side pull the thread over the thing you want to capture and then stitch on the other side. Depending on how you do it you can just hold something in place or you can put the stitches closer together and use it to really hold it.
I should add a tutorial to my web or blog about it... when I've got the time... lol (I've got family visiting from St. John's and they're keeping my away from my work table.

Oh please do add a tutorial - a show I did years ago, we had a barbie doll puppet, and she ended up becoming part of a tree. Our puppet didn't look half as good as yours!

It is a very striking figure, I love the wood grain look. You make it sound so simple but I have a feeling that it takes much more talent and patience to make the wood look so real. Thanks for sharing.
